Abstract:
This proposal seeks to implement an operational atmospheric correction scheme for generic airborne EO data to deliver Level 2 (geophysical data products) to the environmental science community. The ARSF geometric correction software package will be enhanced to process Level lb or Level 2 data from a range of airborne sensors, in addition to the ATM and CASI. This would apply, retrospectively, to the HyMap data, acquired during the NERC/BNSC SAR & Hyperspectral Airborne Campaign (SHAC), and to future airborne campaigns with new optical sensors. The proposal includes additional instrumentation for the NERC remote sensing aircraft to derive in-situ characterisation of the atmosphere for direct input to the atmospheric correction scheme.
