Support by Science Classification
Note: There is an error with % classifications for some recent grants and the financial values associated with their given classification are incorrect.
Further details of the classification scheme, with definitions, are available from this link. You can view a summary of the number and value of total or current applications or awards that are relevant to each Classification Category by selecting it from the table below. You will be taken to a screen where you can select individual classification classes within each Category and then list all relevant projects.
The 'Overall Classification' can be selected from the filter page. It is a single science remit classification (atmospheric, earth, freshwater, marine or terrestrial) coded by the office and is for non-thematic grants ONLY. However, if it used in conjunction with this classification page, the results obtained may well be inconsistent - see the user guide.
Classification Category
- Science Area: All applications or awards classified by one or more area - Atmospheric, Earth, Freshwater, Marine, Terrestrial.

Research grants (Standard, Small, and New Investigator) and fellowships are assessed by the Peer Review College (PRC). To view grants allotted through the previous Peer Review Committees, select Science Area above. These areas are also used through the College and a filter will additionally bring these into your results. Further details of Programmes are also available.
