- Abstract:
- This project aims to develop a package of instruments that will be capable of measuring a range of key physical and chemical parameters from a commercial aircraft platform. Instruments for measuring water vapour, temperature, methane, ozone, accumulation mode particle distributions and total extinction coefficient will be developed that all sample from a single plate that can replace a window on an aircraft. Once the package has been developed it will be installed on the BAe 146 and tested over the remaining period of the project against other instruments. These measurements are all of key atmospheric importance and will provide a wealth of data for constraining models and validating satellite retrieval.
