Abstract:
To investigate the 3-D sedimentary structure of the Amazon Cone and its relationship to the elastic deformation caused by the loading of the sediments onto the continent/ocean transition over time. These quantities will be estimated from detailed analysis of new and existing data and using novel 3-D modelling and inversion codes. The results will be processed and displayed using an integrated 3-D geoscience environment to be developed as part of this project.
