Abstract:
This research project aims at developing a database of bio-geo-chemical and optical properties for estuarine and coastal suspended particulate material. Investigations include both in situ and laboratory based measurements, which will give insights into bio-geophysical interrelationships. Results from this work will provide a better understanding of suspended particulate optical behaviour, its influence on the optical domain, inputs into the development algorithms for the new generation of satellite ocean colour sensors and decision making systems for water quality.
