The aim of the field investigation is to examine 1: the spatial distribution of landslides in relation to topography and the engineering geology of the soils and rocks, and 2: to sample the materials forming the slopes that failed for subsequent analysis. Supporting laboratory work will seek to identify the behaviour of slope forming materials when subjected to a dynamic load and the geological and geomorphological controls on slope failure.
