Abstract:
Five CASE projects will bring together academic and industrial partners to deliver high quality training and application in quantitative and modelling skills in ecology and evolution. The projects will cover: "Evaluating how plant community composition influences natural enemy biodiversity and pest regulation services in temperate agroforestry systems" between the University of Reading and the Woodland Trust "Provenance, Authenticity & Traceability of UK Honey: Enhancing consumer confidence for a sustainable industry" between the University of Reading and the British Honey Company. "Machine Learning for remote sensor placement with multi-modal aerial robots" between Imperial College London and the UK Atomic Energy Authority and Fulham Centre for Fusion Energy. "Development and commercialisation of DNA-based methods for biomonitoring of freshwater resources" between Imperial College London and NatureMetrics. "What's driving extinctions in a global biodiversity hotspot? Quantifying impacts of climate change and land-use change on endemic species in the Nilgris, India" between the University of Reading and the Zoological Society of London
