Abstract:
The MSc programme is designed to provide the necessary knowledge base as well as research, analysis skills and communications skills for future work in the atmospheric sciences either via a PhD or through employment in the public or private sector. Consistent with the philosophy of a conversion course, the relevant theory and background material are taught in a rigorous quantitative framework making no assumption of prior meteorological knowledge. Research and analysis skills are learnt through formal teaching and in the 'hands-on' environment of laboratory and computing classes, field work and projects This grant supports 6 full studentships for three years.
