Abstract:
The course develops a quantitative understanding of petroleum systems: their source rocks, migration pathways, reservoirs and seals. It provides comprehensive training in the chemical, microscopy and computer modelling techniques by which organic matter is studied, and develops awareness of the advantages and limitations of the different approaches. This grant supports 4 full studentships for three years.
