Abstract:
The National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis (NCEAS) in the USA has in the last ten years pioneered new ways of carrying out interdisciplinary analysis and synthesis in the environmental sciences. NCEAS is currently applying for NSF funds to link with the two organisations behind this proposal to extend their activities to address major ecological and environmental issues of significance to the UK and the USA, and this proposal is for matching funds to support this initiative. The activities it will support are a series of working groups based ona highly successful model developed by NCEAS.
