Abstract:
Information obtained from the TRMM Precipitation Radar on rain profiles is facilitating the study of rainfall processes. Algorithms have previously relied upon the use of models to determine the structure of rainfall systems with some degree of success, but are limited by the abilities of the model. This project will investigate the characteristics of rainfall profiles, both temporally and spatially with the aim of improving the development of algorithm, models and ultimately rainfall estimates. The findings of this project will have a direct effect on the planning and implementation of future science plan and strategies.
