Abstract:
The course focuses on; understanding the structure and functioning of aquatic systems ranging from upland catchments to the coastal zone (defined as the limit of the coastal shelf); the importance of integrating ecology with hydrological and geomorphological aspects; consideration of temporal and spatial scale; the design and application of aquatic monitoring programmes; and the use of modelling approaches for explanation and prediction purposes. This grant supports 3 full studentships for three years.
