Abstract:
We propose to enhance post-launch ENVISAT and ODIN activities through the exploitation of these data in planned European field activities in the 2004-2008 period. We will use ENVISAT in the planning and operational phases of field activities in the proposed EU Integrated Project, SCOUT, which has a particular emphasis on the tropical upper troposphere and lower stratosphere. Satellite measurements have special advantages in this region. Exploiting the synergy between SCOUT's in situ data and satellite measurements will be a major focus. These activities will promote the wider use of ENVISAT data within the UK.
